Level 2 Online Short Vowel Game
Playing this game with your students will help reinforce the five short vowels taught in Level 2 of the Barton Reading & Spelling System.
This game is played with two players and a game size of small, medium or large can be selected.
There are two Advanced Options that can be used with this game:
- Playing the game with colored borders and shapes. The players would not only need to match up the short vowel sound but also the same colored border with shapes.
- Removing the keyword pictures from the playing cards will challenge the players to remember the keyword that goes with that short vowel.

I honestly thought this game might be boring, but my students love it! I like the versatility of being able to play with or without the image prompts. Memory games are also great since so many students have working memory deficits. This is a nice, quick warm-up for the start of a lesson.
